The Everest Base Camp and Kalapatthar trek is quite possibly the most popular but challenging trek in Nepal with the most dramatic and picturesque views. The famous walk up to Everest Base Camp offers an opportunity to experience everything that makes a trek in the Everest region so special with many of the world’s highest mountains to admire.
Picturesque Sherpa villages, friendliness of the local people, Tengboche Monastery, hiking the viewpoint peak of Kalaatthar at 5545 m (18,200 ft) for panoramic mountain views and, of course, a visit to the most famous base camp in the world. There is always plenty to see and assimilate along the way. The trek route gradually ascends the Khumbu valley on well formed trails providing foot access between Sherpa villages.
