Mexican Caribbean Kitesurf Tulum November 2017
Currently I am working in Mexico, Tulum as a kitesurfing instructor, The
conditions here are difficult, It is a busy narrow beach with many obstacles, a large
beach break and many waves with Onshore conditions. I believe this will help
develop my skills as an all round kitesurfing instructor having taught in so many
diverse locations.

October 2017
Returning back to Sri Lanka for the third season, My partner and I had an exciting
new project to open up and brand new kitesurfing school in Mannar, an exclusive
undiscovered area. Together we shared the role of kite school managers. Our role
here was to organise the whole school, from training new local staff, to teaching
all hours, organising transport and rentals.

Kitesurfing/Sup instructor WA Australia
Currently working as a full time kiteboarding instructor and part time SUP
instructor, spending most of my days teaching in different locations from a trailer,
meaning our students would have 3 or 4 locations to choice from and we would
change regularly. While here I completed the following course, surf life saver,
senior first aid and Open water Sup course.

I spent the a summer season teaching in Kalpitiya. I spend most of the week
teaching beginners in a lagoon and during the week I would also lead downwind
trips and be in charge of organizing weekly trips to remote islands.

Kitesurfing Instructor
Working in Thailand i had to change my teaching methods slightly as in Phuket
we teach in extreme light wind. I am glad i worked here as my teaching has
improved and i am able to teach in all conditions.

Kitesurfing Instructor / school manager

I spent a season working as the head instructor for kitelab in Langebaan. I spent 6-
8 hours a day working in two locations teaching beginner courses and advanced
lessons. I also shared the role of the Manager of the kite school, guesthouse and
shop with my partner.

Kitesurfing Instructor/ Resort Manager
My partner and I shared the role of head kitesurfing instructors and managers of a
kitesurfing school in Egypt. We became partners to a chain of schools along the
Sinai hiring our own beach team and making the business grow. Our main duties
were to teach kitesurfing during the busy weekends and maintain the school/Camp
during the week by handling the shop, bar and then managing the accommodation.

Guest Relations Manager

My partner and I shared the Role of guest relations manager working in a
kitesurfing resort. Our main duties were to assist in generating customers through
marketing and promoting, ensure all guest are happy with food and
accommodation at all times, act as practical helpers on the beach and during the
evenings we would arrange activities and run the Bar. During our stay we also
volunteered in the local rural school and in exchange for our work we learnt to
kitesurfing during the 5 intense months here.

September 2007 – 2013 Gunner
British Army
I started my career in September 2007 at the age of 16 in the army foundation
collage Harrogate north Yorkshire. During my year at Harrogate I learned my
basic soldering skills then advanced onto leadership and initiative training, I also
gained 3 NVQ level 2 key skills in numeracy literacy and information technology.
I then moved onto my phase 2 training in Larkhill Hampshire where I gained
various driving licences and radio and communication qualifications and team
building exercises. After completing my training I moved to my unit in Tidworth
Wiltshire. At my unit I did my pre deployment training for Iraq but did not end up
deploying. I was then posted to Inverness Scotland for 2 years as a direct recruiter
for the army running op youth advantage courses where i gave troubled children a
taste of army life and discipline. After my 2 year posting I returned to my unit and
trained for Afghanistan where i deployed for 6 months doing force protection
keeping the city if Lashkar gah safe, after returning from Afghanistan I was due to
leave the Army in February.
