Are you a Jack or Jill of all trades? We are the DC area’s only dedicated camping and hiking gear rental business. We have outgrown our ability to handle everything ourselves. See us at www.capitolhilloutfitters.com. We are looking for one person to handle two distinct roles:
1) Gear turnover, diagnosis and repair, errands, and customer interactions at our rental business warehouse. We need someone with flexibility who can pack and hand off orders during our “off days.” While there, the person will take care of returned gear needs tending to. This work would be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings or afternoons. (Will vary on order volume.) On the busiest weeks we may need you Monday and Thursday afternoons as well. 9-15 hours per week.
2) We are also looking for someone to improve our social media presence and provide copy for our email marketing. We want to have a more active presence on Facebook and Instagram including staff and customer-generated content. This set of tasks can occur remotely. 5-10 hours per week.
Since the warehouse part of the job will ebb and flow with order volume, we see the social media work as “filling in” a minimum number of hours you want to work. Pay can be hourly $15-$20/hr or a split of equity and cash. No benefits but free weekend gear rentals. The social media role can continue even after the rental business quiets down.
