Since 13 October 2021 to 21 October 2021
Once a month, the NGO Innoceana organizes a one-week Marine Conservation Course in Tenerife. You’ll get to learn about the local ecosystem and get introduced to underwater monitoring techniques while we take you through our main projects.
Arrival is on the 13th for the check in and a short intro. The course takes place from 14th until 20th included, thus including 7 field days. Accommodation is included until 21st around midday.
You’ll be staying at the Innoceana’s house, where you’ll share a bedroom with one other person and have access to the kitchen for breakfasts and lunches. There’s wifi in the house too. Staff comes to pick you up in the morning, and drops you off once the activity is finished.
We start everyday at 8:30 with a lecture on ecology/biology.
Around 11:00 we go to the dive center and get ready for an underwater survey. The dive is always related to the morning’s lecture. Data is collected, as well as a water sample.
After getting out of the water, we analyze water quality, fill the database and have a debrief while we have a drink or eat something all together.
We are usually done by 4:00pm. There’s plenty to see and visit in this area, and you’ll have time in the evenings to enjoy the surroundings!
